I AM TRYING TO INSTALL OPENFOAM IN UBUNTU. I AM RECEIVING THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:
Attempting to store changes into '/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel'
Fail to create the file

I am using OF 2.1 and Ubuntu 1104

I am new to Ubuntu. Do anyone had the same problem?

Try posting on the OpenFOAM forum instead of the main CFD forum. Also when you post this question...make sure you include a little more info about the problem. Are you installing the deb package as described on (http://openfoam.com/download/ubuntu.php ) ? Are you compiling it from sources? I would help, but I've never encountered this problem. However, some googling gave me this (http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/inde...t-1631433.html). it might be trying to create a file in a non-existent folder. Good luck.

Dan

I wouldn't install it as a super user. I would install it using your account and using instructions in the link to openfoam.com in previous post. making sure to use sudo (which will require your password)
