multiple inlet and outlet

Hello everyone,

I'd like to know if it is possible to make several inlet and outlet within the same object?

To explain it simply, I want to know if we can "cut" a mesh into different parts. For example, I have a Wind tunnel where I'd like to know what happen in the middle part. I know the speed of the Wind at the "inlet" of the middle part and the direction of the Wind at the inlet of the whole... So I'd like to make boundary conditions from part to part...

Is it possible to do such a thing? Or may be there is another way to do it?

Hi Elisa,

Interesting question. Should you perhaps not use regular inlet and outlet boundary conditions and then compare the OpenFOAM simulations results to your wind tunnel measurements at the middle part? You would then be using your experimental results to validate the modelling work. Or if you do not know the inlet and outlet conditions, you could perhaps vary them until you get a close enough match in the middle. Unfortunately I do not know if you can do what you would like to do. Hopefully someone else can help!

Regards,
Nicole

Thank you for your answer Nicole

We don't know all the condition yet but as I was trying to understand how to use blockMesh the question came to my mind, well it is not very important but yet I want to know. It might help me as well if I don't find other way to get rid of my Wind tunnel.
