Hi everybody, I have to do a cfd simulation with a .stl file, which must rotate from 0 to 180 degrees at discrete times. That's what I have to do:
stl file---->snappyHexMesh---->analisys rotate stl-->snappyHexMesh---->analisys How can I perform this operation?I have given a look to rotateMesh but I can't do what I want. Please help me and thanks to all the members of this special forum! Fabrizio |

Hi Fabrizio,
It's easy to rotate an OpenFOAM mesh using the utility transformPoints. I don't know of any tool for rotating an STL description, however. Why not write a simple program yourself? It's only basic linear algebra, and the STL file format is extremely simple (see wikipedia for links and descriptions). Ola |

Hi Fabrizio,
we are using admesh for manipulating stl-files: http://www.varlog.com/index.html Usage is straightforward. Daniel |
