Hi all,
I'm new in using openFOAM and i'm experiencing some small basic problems. One of these deals about mesh creation using blockMesh. What i've understood by reading user's guide is that blockMesh generates the mesh once that i've specified the blocks in the blockMesh dictionary. What is still not clear is: "how should be the edges ordered when i specify them in the dictionary? is totally a chose of mine? also the block numbering does not affect the solution?" thanks for your help Roberto |

Hello Roberto,
A Good day to you! I think your questions regarding edge numbering are answered in Section 6.3 of the user guide. Specifically.... look at the diagram on the page, which shows you how OpenFOAM handles vertex and edge numbering. Enjoy! Philippose |

Consider: The first Edge of your Block { by ( 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7) it yould be from 0 to 1} defines your X-Axes of that Block. This is important for the Grading since it is "simpleGrading(x y z)".
