Hi , OF community, I want to generate a grid with a slope, please see the figure attached. I just want to know whether there is an easy way to generate it?

Now my plan is to divide the vertical layers into 4 parts, and then divide each part into a triangle grid and the rectangular one, and use blockMesh to generate it.

The problem is that, as the number of vertical layers increases, the work is quite tedious and easy to make a mistake.

I wonder if anyone has a better idea?

Define two blocks using blockMesh. One block for the triangular part and the other for the rectangle.

To define the rectangular block use hex.
To define the triangular block use wedge. See http://www.openfoam.com/docs/user/me...23-1270005.1.1 (at the bottom) to know how vertices are numbered.

Thanks ,McCarra
I will try this method. But still I'm not sure whether this is ok. Since the points at the slope edge should be connected to the points at both the upper and the right edge at the sametime. I will report back later.

I understand. The thing is not that easy I think.

I don't know how to keep the mesh in the triangular block vertical and horizontal as it is in the rectangular block.

Good luck and keep us informed!
