Hi Guys,
I am using snappyhexmesh to create a cellzone alongwith the mesh. I would Need that later for multi-Region meshing and as of now I am testing it only with one volume.
The Problem is when I define cellzones and facezones in snappyhexmesh, I get rough edges and one extra box of volume.
and when I do not use cellzone command in surface refinement, surface comes out to be really smooth and correct but then I do not have a cellzone.
Code:
   refinementSurfaces
    {

      abgas
        {
            // Surface-wise min and max refinement level
            level (2 2);

          faceZone abgas;
            cellZone abgas;
            cellZoneInside inside;

        }
Please note that I had to cut the real STL as I am not allowed to disclose the designs on public Forums because of comapny policies. But I am attaching the log file in the comments which assures that it is a closed surface but then it makes 4 regions instead of only 2 (inside and outside of STL).
Code:
Surface : abgas
    faceZone : abgas
    cellZone : abgas
Found 1 closed, named surfaces. Assigning cells in/outside these surfaces to the corresponding cellZone.

Walking from location-in-mesh (10 100 40) to assign cellZones - crossing a faceZone face changes cellZone

Found point (10 100 40) in cell -1 in global region 1 out of 4 regions.
Thanks
Vineet

Hi Vineet,

If you just need to create a cellZone, I think you can use the utility topoSet for that.

I used topoSet to create a faceZone, never tried with cellZone.

Hope it helps !
