Compiling with OpenCascade

When I tried to open a CAD STEP-file with gmsh there is an error that I should compile gmsh with OpenCascade.

What does that mean and how is this possible?

I have downloaded the OpenCascade file, but don't know what to do with it.
There is no documentation of how to compile OpenCascade itself or even with gmsh.

Compiling stuff again.

The FAQ.txt of gmsh from the website sais:

* 2.4 How do I compile Gmsh?

Just type './configure; make; make install'. If you change some
configuration options (type './configure --help' to get the list of
all available choices), don't forget to do 'make clean' before
rebuilding Gmsh

Where do I have to put these commands?
If I run ./configure in the gmsh directory there is an error bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

Whats wrong?
