Good day,
I installed SALOME, generated geometry, generated mesh (netgen), saved mesh as mesh.unv. Could you explain, how get this mesh from OpenFOAM - so my attempts try to use neutralNetgenToFoam lead to error: --> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR : Attempt to get back from bad stream file: mesh.unv at line 1. From function void Istream::getBack(token& t) in file db/IOstreams/IOstreams/Istream.C at line 44. FOAM exiting What's wrong - may be, it's need to use another types of mesh or something else ? |

Hello Foamers,
I wanted to ask whether these issues have been fixed in the 1.5(-dev) version of OpenFOAM yet or not. I have used SALOME to create a mesh which I hoped to use in 2D with "empty" patches on front and back. It is prismatic (or should be) and made following the process shown in this tutorial: http://www.caelinux.org/wiki/index.p...ELinux_2008.29 I keep getting an error with the ideasUnvToFoam converter with these meshes that says: *snip* Writing boundary faces to STL file boundaryFaces.stl Constructing mesh with non-default patches of size: Faces 1404 Interior 16 OutsideWalls 47 Trying to specify a boundary face 3(397 398 396) on the face on cell 144 which is either an internal face or already belongs to some other patch. This is face 702 of patch 0 named Faces. From function polyMesh:olyMesh ( const IOobject& io, const pointField& points, const cellShapeList& cellsAsShapes, const faceListList& boundaryFaces, const wordList& boundaryPatchTypes, const wordList& boundaryPatchNames, const word& defaultBoundaryPatchType ) in file meshes/polyMesh/polyMeshFromShapeMesh.C at line 487. FOAM aborting Aborted *snip* Has anyone seen this issue? Was this part of the patching that is described in this thread? Best regards, Mike J. |
