Dear all,
I'm new using OpenFOAM. I have been meshing with ICEM for some time, and I want to start using OF for solving my case studies. When I converted my mesh to OpenFOAM and ran blockMesh, I got this message:

// * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * //
Create time

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Cannot open mesh description file
"/home/agustin/OpenFOAM/agustin-2.2.0/run/Fluent/constant/polyMesh/blockMeshDict"

From function blockMesh
in file blockMeshApp.C at line 137.

FOAM exiting

Following the advice of this Forum, I checked the mesh. And apparently is a good one:

Checking geometry...
Overall domain bounding box (-64.5905 -18 -2.4869e-14) (23.0393 180 129.809)
Mesh (non-empty, non-wedge) directions (1 1 1)
Mesh (non-empty) directions (1 1 1)
Boundary openness (6.36975e-15 3.3617e-17 -7.55325e-16) OK.
Max cell openness = 2.71694e-16 OK.
Max aspect ratio = 8.01504 OK.
Minimum face area = 0.417017. Maximum face area = 93.2732. Face area magnitudes OK.
Min volume = 0.750633. Max volume = 282.629. Total volume = 929091. Cell volumes OK.
Mesh non-orthogonality Max: 55.609 average: 7.48596
Non-orthogonality check OK.
Face pyramids OK.
Max skewness = 1.5071 OK.
Coupled point location match (average 0) OK.

Mesh OK.

End

Tried blockMesh again with the same result. Then I ran another mesh that a friend helped me to create using Snappy. This mesh works very well. However, I want to do my own meshes using ICEM. Do you have a clue of what is going on?

Thanks.

-mAx- will become famous soon enough
blockMesh or snappyHexMesh are mesher. So if you already have your mesh with ICEM, why do you want to re-create one?
You only need to import your ICEM-mesh

Thank you very much -mAx-. It's working very well now. I had the impression from the tutorials that blockMesh was always required previous to any running to UPLOAD the geometry in paraFoam. Thanks.
