I want to use mesquite to smooth my mesh, is the current release able to take volume-ratio into account? My mesh is fully orthogonal generated by blockMesh, as seen in the attached links, but I hope it can be further smoothed around the corner where the volume change is sharp.

have a look at the branch

from OpenFOAM-1.6-ext, especially the commit 4e223e307b2d6b72c04312c70fa7ef019b63be8f

There I have pushed two new classes, one of them is the VolumeRatioQualityMetric. Have a look at the README file and activate these new classes in the hashTable in mesquiteMotionSolver.C (recompile the proper library also). A hex based test case, was pushed with commit

Hi,

I am quite new to using mesquite for mesh optimization. There is an option of defining slip patches by providing

slipPatches
{
topAndBottom;
frontAndBack;
leftAndRight
}

in dynamicMeshDict. In order to test this feature, I created a graded mesh using blockMesh (please refer to initialMesh.png of the attachments).

After running moveDynamicMesh, I expected a uniform mesh. However I got the result shown in finalMesh.png. I realized that the nodes on the edged are not moved. How can I give these nodes the degree of freedom to move on the edges?

I would be grateful if somebody can help me. Thank you!

I'm also interested in smoothing a mesh. Can you send me the complete dynamicMeshDict that you used?
