wigleyHull tutorial with own hull

Hi Openfoam users,
I already run some tutorials and collected experience in openfoam. Now I tried to calculate my own hull shape based on the wigleyHull tutorial. Therefore I increased the “box” in blockMeshDict to run larger hulls.Later on I created the calculation mesh with snappyHexMesh. This works fine as long I us a hull geometry which is nearly the same size like the original wigley hull. (also own hulls). But if I use a larger hull there is a problem with the mesh generation in snappyHexMesh. In this case the outer box has the same size and shape as the hull.
I think there is another parameter which I also have to increase. But up to now I could find anything in the openfoam settings. Could you give me a hint to solve the problem?

I'm not sure I completely understand your issue, but it sounds like your base mesh is around the same size as your hull. The base mesh (made with blockMesh) defines the domain boundaries for your flow and should be appropriately sized to contain any geometry you want to use with snappyHexMesh. The base mesh will also set the minimum resolution of the cells. You want your base mesh to be significantly larger then your hull.
