Using surfaceFeatureExtract

Good Afternoon Y'all,

For my current project, I'm trying to solve for flow around a 3D aircraft model. I am able to mesh and run the solver (in this case, icoFoam). However, the solution does not seem to be getting close to convergence.

One theory I have is in a message I receive during SHM - something to the effect of, "none of the mesh points snap to the features, edges, or points of the model geometry." Since this does not stop SHM, I've been ignoring this so I could push forward, but now I'm wondering if this is at least part of why the sim does not converge well.

Before I chase down the wrong rabbit, I was hoping for some help:

- Would surfaceFeatureExtract fix this this issue (possibly)?

- How do I go about running sFE? In the manual its treated like a command line utility, but there also seems to be a dictionary associated with it. I can't find a clear explanation for OF 2.3.1.

- Alternatively, is there something else I can look into? I'm still interested in using SFE correctly.

Thanks! :)

...And of course I was able to run sFE just after this post. :) For anyone who finds themselves in a simialr predicament, I had to setup the sFEDict file (following one of the tutorial examples file in tutorials/mesh/snappyHexMesh/motorBike/system) then execute sFE. then, run snappyHexMesh.
