no boundary layers using snappyHexMesh

1 Attachment(s)
Hi there,

I'm a beginner using snappyHexMesh and trying hard to create boundary layers but without any succses since now. I always receive the following error message:

....

writing mesh to time 2
Written mesh in = 132.34 s.
--> FOAM Warning :
From function layerParameters::layerParameters(..)
in file autoHexMesh/autoHexMeshDriver/layerParameters/layerParameters.C at line 377
Reading "/home/bartosch/OpenFOAM/bartosch-1.6/run/generic_mirror/snappyHexMesh/generic_mirror_1/system/snappyHexMeshDict::layers" from line 110 to line 110
Layer specification for mirror_mirror: does not match any patch.

.....

After some further outputs snappyHexMesh finishes but without creating boundary layers. My stl file is a binary file which I created using "blender". I think there is nothing special about it, except that I could not edit it in order to name the solids. Could someone please give me a hint what I'm doing wrong. I attached my snappyHexMeshDict file to this email. The stl file was to large for the forum, so I could not add it also. At the very beginning of the process snappyHexMesh outputs a lot of messages:

...
Adding patches for surface regions
----------------------------------

Patch Region
----- ------
mirror:

6 mirror_patch0
7 mirror_patch1
8 mirror_patch2
9 mirror_patch3

...
8230 mirror_patch8224
...

So in total there seem to be 8224 single patches which I can't adress individually. So I tought the combined patch meight automatically be named "mirror_mirror". Is this true?

Best Regards
Thorsten

Hi all,

meanwhile I could solve my problem, so please forgett this thread. It was a naming problem of the patch.

Best Regards
Thorsten
