I want to work on a naca0012 airfoil with a flap and want to find an aerodynamical design for more cl/cd.this optimization should be done according to an algorithm like ant colony.how can i change geometry and mesh automatically during run with OpenFOAM?
is there an open source software like dakota for changing in mesh? |

Hi Ehsan,
It sounds like you want to do shape optimisation? Maybe you could benefit from a look on the adjointShapeOptimisation solver in OpenFoam (I have never tried it, though). With respect to mesh motion, then OpenFoam comes with a large suite of mesh-deformation utilities, and in OpenFoam-1.6-ext some code also allows for complex topological changes of the computational domain through a linking to the mesquite software package. Kind regards, Niels |

Greetings to all!
BladeDesigner comes to mind... there was a brief talk about it here on the forum: OpenFOAM mesh generation of an aerofoil Best regards, Bruno
