5 Attachment(s)
Hi Foarmers
I use OpenFoam 2.1.1. I am trying mesh a geometry with Hex. elements but i have problem with edge sharp. Attached find pics the mesh and the eMesh and the SHM file.
I was trying fix that with differents option such but didnt get improve the mesh :

nFeatureSnapIter 10 (Try with 5 10 and 50)

resolveFeatureAngle 45 (Try with 25 45 and 90)

surfaceFeatureExtract -includedAngle 95 -writeObj constant/triSurface/geom2.stl geom2

I dont want use more elements, i know that i can improve with that:

refinementSurfaces and eMesh up level but i dont want more elements

Thanks in advanced for your help

Hello ynos!

Have you tried snapEdge?
http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib_snapEdge

I'm having some troubles with it myself, but it did wonders with some other features of my mesh!

Hello ynos!

I guess it's obsolete because of the edge handling feature, that came out in 2.0.x.
I figured if you tried that already, why not snapEdge?

Have you also tried extracting the eMesh file with some other angles? The .eMesh doesn't seem to have captured the features you are having trouble snapping. Try 179 just in case.
