Java needs prespecified the maximum amount of memory it can take. Look at the patchTool script.

Thanks for your help. What tool do you use to extract single patches?

I don't know where to look, can someone tell me where i can change the amount of memory used by patchTool? I am running it on a 64 bit OpenSuse 10.2 system, on the Ubuntu 32 bit system (same machine) i don't have the problem.

Hi all,
can someone please help me? Is there an other open source tool to create patches or how can i fix the problem with PatchTool and it's memory usage? Regards, Daniel |
Hi Daniel,
You may try to use
Hi Daniel,
You may try to use the autoPatch utility, and then rename the generated patches. I found an old discussion at memory limit, and they show 2 options for the jvm... still seems there are problems. Basically one option is -Xmx4000m, and lets you allocate as much heap as you want (in this case I chose 4000MB). Dragos |
Thanks for your reply. autoPat
Thanks for your reply. autoPatch is to primitive, i'm using it together with patchTool, when i leave the patches created by autoPatch (with an angle of 60°) i have around 100. At the other hand i have to group them to calculate forces on a group of patches.
I will try the memory limit thing. Daniel |
