Hi,
I would like to distribute, say 10, rather small inlets with a cross section ~3mm radially on a pipe where the diameter is 20cm. First, I find it difficult to add this "manually" using blockMesh, but having had a look under the mesh transformation utilities I wonder if there are any clever ways of doing this using these functions? Is there a way to "add"/merge the geometry of inlet patches to an existing mesh?

Thank you.

In this case I would use the opensource package salome (http://www.salome-platform.org/)for building the geometry and meshing it.

Right. So Salome is meshing too?

By the way, is it possible to stitch an imported (Gambit) mesh with a mesh from blockMesh? I can't really figure how to do this in stitchMesh.
