Hi all,
Is there a tool in OpenFoam I could use to find the elevation profile (xyz preferably) between two given points on an STL file. Here's what I want to do: I have a large topo map in STL format, I define a diamond domain in blockMesh with 8 vertices and then run MoveDynamicMesh. See picture of the result below. On the picture you see only the inlet patch. From that, I need to have the inlet elevation profile in order to extrude it on a given distance to run a cyclic simulation on it. Then, I want to map the results of the inlet of this cyclic simulation on the inlet of my diamond domain (both profiles are supposed to be the same). To map the results from one simulation to another, not only for MapFields, but for me it's important that both profiles are identical. In summary, I need to extrude the mesh of the inlet patch shown below .. Please help! |

ok for those looking do to something silimar, there exists a tool called extrudeMesh.
It does exactly what I wanted! Last edited by ic3wall; February 3, 2012 at 15:06. |
