One dimensional meshes as they pertain to engine simulation
I'm working my way through Gordon P. Blair's "Design and Simulation of Four-Stroke Engines" as an exercise. Using it and a few more references I am building engine modeling tools, and posting as an open-source project here:
I'm mainly working in Python, and have been looking into PyFOAM and/or PyFlu to interface with OpenFOAM.
Chapter 2 of Prof. Blair's work deals with gas flow as single-dimensional cylindrical meshes. I was wondering if anyone could help me with what would be involved in translating this into OpenFOAM, PyFoam, or PyFlu terms.
I'm sure one-dimensional cylindrical meshes are stupidly trivial, the OpenFOAM documentation dives so quickly into the more advanced cases that I can't seem to razor this thing down to simpler methods.
If someone has a copy of the book and is willing to help me through the process of getting OpenFOAM tied in to what I'm trying to accomplish via PyFlu and/or PyFOAM I'd appreciate the instruction.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to be able to accomplish this?
