Hi,
Are there many people here who create a mesh on Rhino 3D and import it into OpenFoam? If so, can you please let me know what steps to take to do this? Many thanks, Luke |

The process for this is to save the Rhino model to a STL or OBJ file.
From there you use SnappyHexMesh to get the required mesh. Refer to the motorbike tutorial to see how the obj file is dealt with. Also see this: http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/snappyHexMesh.php |

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go. I just have to learn how to solve an internal flow problem with a SnappyHexMesh, plenty of posts on that already so I'll go through those.

You could also look at CheetahSTC from moceon, its a Rhino plugin for structured hex meshing. I havent tried it myself, but the hex only meshes for OF should be good for quality and convergence if done properly.
