Hello All,
I've been using OF for about 2 years for aerodynamics, but I always used Salome to create the meshes (by unv conversion). Now I'm playing with snappyHexMesh (great tool), and already created some meshes. Since I also use ANSYS-CFX for comparison, I'm trying to convert the created mesh for it, by using the foamMeshToFluent application, and receiving this error message: /*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*\ | ========= | | | \ / F ield | OpenFOAM: The Open Source CFD Toolbox | | \ / O peration | Version: 1.5 | | \ / A nd | Web: http://www.OpenFOAM.org | | \/ M anipulation | | \*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ Exec : foamMeshToFluent Date : Dec 22 2008 Time : 15:28:01 Host : bernoulli PID : 27828 Case : /home/foam/OpenFOAM/foam-1.5/run/laero/mesh_TESTE_01 nProcs : 1 // * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * // Create time Create mesh for time = 3 Writing Header --> FOAM Warning : From function void fluentFvMesh::writeFluentMesh() const in file fluentFvMesh.C at line 258 foamMeshToFluent: cell shape for cell 43859 only supported by Fluent polyhedral meshes. Suppressing any further messages for polyhedral cells. End I tried anyway to convert in CFX, but it complains about polyhedral cells (not suported). Does anyone know how can I solve this issue? My intention is to concentrate all the process in OF utilities. Thanks in advance. Best Regards, Paulo Rocha |

Hello again,
As an alternative way, I thought about using the tetDecomposition utility to get a pure tet mesh. It is in the User Guide, but I cannot find in the command line. Does anyone know where is the application (if it changed the name, for example) ? Best Regards, Paulo Rocha |
