Split a ready mesh for a symmetric geometry

Hi,

I am running free surface flow simulations of ships using LTSInterFoam. Currently I am exploring the concept of using a symmetry plane to cut down on the computational effort. For this I have a range of hulls meshed without the symmetry plane which I want to compare to the symmetrical cases. I thought it would be much faster to re-use my existing meshes which I am happy with rather than creating new ones.

I found the splitMesh utility ( http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/SplitMesh ) which seems like a way to go but it's unclear to me how I can create a faceSet to be able to use it and how to best utilise this tool.

Thanks in advance,
Artur
