Dear Foamers,

I would like to create a 2D circular geometry which is radially varying along the axial direction. Can you throw some light on how to model such a geometry.

Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Vishal

Quick answer:
  • Your description is too vague.
  • Please provide more details, preferably an image of what exactly trying to design.

Thanks Brunos for the quick reply. I am attaching a figure of the geometry I would like to create. I want to create a pore which is radially varying along the axial direction (x) as shown in the figure. Please let me know how to model this system in OpenFOAM.

Quick answer: This is just a suggesting for a possible implementation:
  1. Design the geometry in a 3D CAD software, e.g. Blender or FreeCAD.
  2. Export to STL.
  3. Use cfMesh to mesh it.

Thanks for the reply, Bruno. Can Pro-E be used to create the geometry ? Also, would it be possible for you to create the geometry if I give you the dimensions. Please let me know.

I guess it can be used to do it, but it's not a guaranteed that it will work as intended.

Sorry, I don't have enough time for everything .

Read the cfMesh manual. It's very easy to use.
