I need to perform a numerical simulation on the heat transfer during compression for a sliding vane compressor. Since the shape of chamber containing the air will change with time, how do I create a mesh which changes in time?
Thank you |

I was reading the thread by Hrvjoe Jasak at
http://www.cfd-online.com/OpenFOAM_D...ges/1/224.html. Is there any tutorial available for layer addition/removal? |

Do you need to add layers or can you just move the mesh (mesh.movePoints) ? There is various info on this forum about it. See also icoFoamAutoMotion tutorial.

Thank you for the reply.
Since the vanes of the compressor will have a motion in the radial and tangential direction, and I plan to use a graded mesh, I think layer addition/removal will be necessary. Since the geometry will be changing as well as moving due to the rotary motion of the vanes, the mesh will need to change geometry as well as move. I will check out icoFoamAutoMotion. |

How to adapt a mesh by some field(may be Pressure or temperature for example) gradient?
Is there any tool for doing this......... If so , please help me with it...... Also indicate the tutorial in which the adaptive mesh by gradient is used. I have tried the sonicFoamAutoMotion, but there is no tutorial attached to it... I started to create a test file for it, but had an error in giving the dynamicMeshDict file..... or in other words, how to edit or convey to the solver that i have to use mesh adaptation by gradient of the field i like.. |
