spline or simpleSpline ?

Hi,

I am new to OpenFOAM.

The current documentation (PDF) for OpenFOAM 2.1 talked about various edge types

arc
simpleSpline
polyLine
polySpline
line

But calling the blockMesh executable with a simpleSpline edge type resulted in the following errors

--> FOAM FATAL ERROR:
Unknown curvedEdge type simpleSpline

Valid curvedEdge types are

4
(
arc
line
polyLine
spline
)

Is there a more updated documentation about spline in meshing for OpenFOAM ?

Regards

Hi All,

I realise this post is a little old but I am also having the same problem. I am using openFOAM v2.1.1 and only the polyLine and spline is working but both are very jagged in there interpolation between points. I am hoping that simpleSpline will give me a better result but I am getting a 'Unknown curvedEdge' error.
My blockMeshDict is working with no errors when I change to a standard polyLine curve.

Any help would be welcome.

P.S. I was thinking it maybe a bug or installation error as when OF gives me a list of acceptable curve commands simpleSpline is not their. It is as though I am running from a much older version of OF.:confused:

Bug

Hi,

I have the same problem with OpenFOAM 2.2.0.

At version 1.6 was a Bug like it and here is the solution:
http://repo.or.cz/w/OpenFOAM-1.6.x.g...17616acf499689

I tried to do it but does't work for me because I'm running on mac and I should recompile the program, but you can try, maybe it's work for you!
