Templates in paraview
Hi all,
I want to know if in paraview there is any option to create some kind of templates (like in fluent) to only change the data and not create the graph every time. |
Jepp, it's called a "state file". Just setup your case in paraview and then go to File->Save State.
You can then load this state file and you will be prompted to choose the data file. Works very nicely, but for more complex visualization pipelines python scripts become also very handy. For more details I would recommend you "The Para View Guide": http://www.paraview.org/paraview-dow...CC-Edition.pdf -Armin |
Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it.

I saved a state file with paraview and want to use it with other datasets.
But it only loads the same data file for which I saved the data. Is it possible to use different data (same mesh but different runs) with a state file so as to plot results in a consistent automated way? |
Hi,
State files contain absolute paths to the data files (XML state files have this path in two places, Python state files have it only in one place). In general, when you open state file, Paraview asks you about location of data ("Fix Paths in State File" dialogue window), there you can direct software to another location. |
Dear Alexey
Thank you very much for the answer! |
