Hey everyone,

I am new in openFoam and when I was working with paraview, I found that there is not any guideline included file, edit, view & ... at the top of my paraview page.... and the worse, when I was trying to find the reason of that, I closed the windows of pipeline, properties and information. Now, I cannot open these windows again and I cannot find how I can add them... I even install openFoam again but I could not success to have them... plz help me... the version of openFoam is 240 and the version of paraview is 410.

  1. Look at the top bar on your screen.
  2. Move your mouse over that bar...
  3. aim a bit to the middle of the screen...
  4. see the menu appearing there?

I have found this thread because my menu bar was also (and really!) missing. (So not the typical ubuntu feature problem. But yes, I'm running Ubuntu.) Searching the internet indicated that there may be some kind of compatibility problem between Qt and the graphics driver.

For those of you whose problem was not resolved by Bruno's solution you could try restarting the unity panel service. Type in your terminal:

initctl restart unity-panel-service

Best wishes
