Transparent phase in interFoam

Hi folks,

I am relatively new to OpenFoam, but have been making good progress up until now.

I am trying to run a model not dissimilar to the collapsing dam tutorial, with a liquid and an air phase.

I would like to make the air phase transparent, so that I can see what the liquid phase is doing across the model. I have played with the opacity settings in the Display tab, but they affect both phases in the model.

Is there any way that I can use ParaFoam to make one phase transparent, while the other remains fully opaque, or is this more of a function of the pre-processing model setup?

Many thanks in advance,

R

Try using the contour filter in Paraview to create isosurfaces of gamma=0.5. The surfaces can be coloured by velocity or pressure if you wish. Also, you can leave the original mesh turned on, display with solid colour, and then set its opacity to 0.2 or so.

Another trick is to use the clip function to get the parts of gamma > 0.5 and < 0.5. You can then do whatever you'd like with the both of them.
