Opening Plot3D xyz and q files

I am trying to open .xyz and .q files with Paraview and am having a difficult time with the .q files. I have written my own Plot3D .xyz and .q files according to the directions in the FieldView manual Appendix B. It seems pretty straight forward. The xyz file opens fine, and I can see my geometry, but the q file won't open to show me the flow properties. Does anyone have experience with these file formats? I've searched the web in vain for detailed information on opening q files specifically within Paraview.

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Dear Doug,

I am using cfl3d which will produce plot3dg.bin and plot3dq.bin two file, but no .xyz file. As I know, the plot3dg.bin is a grid file, and plot3dq.file is a variable file. But I don't know how to open these two file simutanously in Paraview. Do you have some solutions?

Best wishes to you!

Regards,
Big Orange.
