seperate u & v From U Magnitude

Hi
i want to save velocity data such as: u & v from U Magnitude but i don't know!
even i type the below command in Terminal:
foamCalc components U
but It gives us exactly what the paraview Gives us.
i have to use the u to get boundary layer thickness.
thanks.

for post processing
use paraFoam
then calculator, you can choose U_x and U_y , and the Operator v1.v2

in processing
if you want to have it, in runtime, you need to write a pieces of code or use swak4Foam
