Hello All

I have carried out LES in openfoam. I have got surface pressure data. Now I want to transfer pressure time data from openFoam to Ansys Modal to carryout Flow Induced Vibrations. Can anyone help?

Regards

Greetings sihaqqi,

A bit more information about the kind of data you want to transfer would be useful. Namely:
  1. Do you only need data from said surface?
  2. Or do you also need the mesh?
  3. What kinds of format can you open in Ansys Modal?
Best regards,
Bruno

Hello Bruno

Thanks for your response. My problem is I want to transfer surface pressure or force vs time data in Ansys Workbench. I do not know if I should import mesh or not as this is the first time I am solving this type of problem. I have attached a formats file which I found in Ansys when I press Imports data tab. However I am still not sure which format I can use.

Regards

Hi sihaqqi,

Well, my guess is that you'll need Fluent to act as the middle-agent in this, because none of those file formats seem to be exportable from OpenFOAM.

If Fluent is out of the question, then I suggest that you ask on the correct ANSYS forum (not sure which sub-forum) how to import CSV data into Ansys Workbench, which will carry the values at each point of said surface.

Best regards,
Bruno
