Hi all OpenFOAM users,
currently, I'm running the case of decompression of tank internally pressurised with water which is given in programmer guide tutorial page 58 http://foam.sourceforge.net/docs/Gui...mmersGuide.pdf . It works fine, but I find difficulties to show propagation of pressure waves at different time ( t = 50, 100, 150) which is given in Programmer Guide page 62. How can I show propagation of pressure waves at that different time? I applied stream tracer, but doesn't give the same result. I'm waiting for your help. Any answer would be welcomed. Kind regards |

Hi,
Iso contour of pressure with a large number of values in the range (100) do the job. Regards. |

Dear Laurent Fitschy,
many thanks for your reply. I didn't understand it very well. Can you explain it more please. Sorry for that, I'm mathematician, I still do't understand physics and engineering language very well. My previous question is : How can I show propagation of pressure waves at that different time? Sorry again and many thanks for your help. Regards |

I understood you would like to do the same pictures as in the programmer's guide !
If so, you have to load your case with paraFoam, then you apply the "coutour" filter (menu->filters->contour), then choose "p" in the "contour by" menu, and finally, clic on "new range" button in which you set the number of "steps" to 100 as in the picture attached. Now, you can see the time variation of pressure wave by changing "time" in the right upper toolbar. |
