Hi,

I ran some LES simulations of turbulent flow over a backward facing step. I was aiming to calculate turbulence parameters, velocity fluctuations, turbulent kinetic energy and turbulence intensity through time. To do so I put a number of probes in the computational domain to obtain velocity through time at various points of interest.

However, when I compare the velocity obtained by the probe to the fields that are saved in my timestep folders, the velocity values are different. Therefore, the results in different TKE and turbulence intensity.

Would anyone why this would be? Is it part of some sort of interpolation of the values from where the probes are located?

Thanks in advance

You should post an example of what you mean and the function object you ran. Interpolation is an option that you would have specified in the function object.
