Dear ALL,

How to plot specifically X-momentum equation v/s iterations of OpenFOAM solver?

Let's suppose my solver is icoFoam, How will I plot momentum equation convergence instead of variables (i.e., Ux, Uy or p)?
I know residual plot for each variable. I was wondering how can I plot residuals for complete momentum equation instead of variables?

Thanks in Advance

Hi,
I do not really understand what do you want.
I might be wrong, but let's increase the chance someone who knows will react when seeing something wrong .
In lines for Ux Uy and Uz you have residuals for momentum equations. The product of momentum equations are velocity components Ux,Uy and Uz, but the residuals are of momentum equation solved. Therefore it is already showing what you want .

good luck

Thanks Matej for commenting..

I actually want to compare results similar to the attached figure below, the residual plot for u-momentum equation (please, refer the attached figure).
Note: figure taken from well known journal paper

Also we know the variables (Ux, Uy, p, etc.) vary differently and when used in the equation it will show residuals for momentum equation. So, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried these?

After searching through forum I found that prof. H. Jasak, gave a hint for simpleFoam. (refer the weblink below)

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...residuals.html

In case of solvers other than simpleFoam, especially icoFoam. Has anyone tried to obtain convergence plot for momentum equation?

Any ideas Foamers?

Thanks in Advance
