Post-Proccesing of Large Eddy Simulation

Hello,

I'm studying LES for large scale flows. I have some problems about post-processing of LES.

Due to my supervisor's request, I don't use openfoam post-processing tools. That's why I developed my own matlab scripts to post-process. However, I'm not sure that they are ok or not. I'll explain shortly then I'll ask some questions.

I store velocity values for every 50 time step, after a certain time (like 10000 time steps) I average them for every mesh and I obtain mean velocity. Afterwards, I obtain fluctuations.

I think so far so good. However, for the next step I have some doubts.

I need to obtain velocity variances, turbulent fluxes and spectral density, but I don't know exactly how to do it.

Can you help with this issue?

Dear taygun,

Computing rms velocities in is straightforward. You can compute the variance of your results. Remember MATLAB has commands for this jub. (var)
Although I think you should store your time dependent results in each time step, not every 50 time steps.
