Hello,
i'm a new OpenFOAM utilizer and i have some question about how the results are organized after a simulation.
At the final step of a simulation we obtain 2 files: one for the velocity field and one for the pressure field. The file has the same vector number of the cells number of course.
My aim is to extract the velocity and pressure outlet fileds for using them in another simulation (but this is another problem). I'm working with a channel precisely.
So, how can i extract the pressure and velocity vectors of the outlet starting from the entire fields?

Thanks for help

Ok i understand i have to use some tools in

Code:
OpenFOAM/etc/caseDicts/postProcessing
and i also think, in my case, i have to choose between the tool "probes" or "boundaryCloud". My question is: how can i set them for calculate not a single cells but an entire boundary?

Thanks for help

Sorry for bump but i'm not able to choose between the post-processing script probes, buondaryCloud or internal cloud.

the probes script is

Code:
#includeEtc "caseDicts/postProcessing/probes/probes.cfg"

fields (p U);
probeLocations
(
    (0 0 0)
);
can someone explain me what to change to calculate the velocity field for my buondary outlet?

Thanks for help
