Dear All,

About 2 weeks ago somebody asked me about creating Lagrangian particles for post-processing in OpenFOAM: basically, take a flow solution, shoot some particles through it and visualise.

Well, I've got one now... but I cannot remember who wanted it.

Guess it was me, remember? I was complaining about Paraview 2.4.4, 3.2.1 and 3.3.0 not being able to track some streamlines, which appeared broken without any reason... Either in a VTK export or an Ensight export...

I am currently trying to create Lagrangian particles for post-processing in OpenFOAM and then export them into a VTK database so I can use VisIt to do the visualization. However, VisIt does not recognize the VTK files that I am getting as the output. Any suggestions?

Really, dunno how to help you... I have been around with the same problem...

Tried an OpenFOAM export to VisIt with no chance, then tried a VTK export to VisIt, again with no chance...

You could try foamToVTK . whatever -ascii ...

but i do not think that this is the issue here, BTW MayaVi also has problems with scalarFields in VTK...

really do not know how to help here...

For as far as i know, one has to stick to Paraview, DX or EnSight...
