Hi all.
I'm new with OpenFOAM. Could someone tell me how to to convert Fluent data to Foam? I know that already is available an utility for converting meshes but what about data? Thanks a lot. Agostino |

Hi Agostino,
i did this only once for an interFoam calculation for the alpha field (phase volume fraction) from Fluent to gamma field in OpenFOAM. I converted the Fluent mesh with fluent3DMeshToFoam. And then i exported the alpha field from Fluent using an interpolation file. I then copied the alpha values to the gamma field file in the OF case folder by hand. IMPORTANT: This only works if cells are in the same order in the Fluent and the OF-mesh. That was the case for me. If it is not, you can easily spot the error in paraView ;-) By the way, to convert OF data back to Fluent: This is easy, just use foamDataToFluent. You have to edit a dictionary to do that (example found in the source directory of this utility). Best regards Christian |
