Hello everybody,
for the purpose of postprocessing I want to evaluate my CFD results on certain cuts of the flow domain. Is there any functionality implemented to cut a geometric field with a plane or even a number of faces (defining a cambered surface). Regards Rolando |
Sure, see the "mapping" subdir
Sure, see the "mapping" subdirectory of lesInterFoam for an example of a cutting plane. Be warned, it might have some issues with degenerate cuts.

Thanks a lot Eugene.

I want to do some calculations with the data on the cuts (e.g. averaging, averaging in one direction, integrating). Is this possible in ParaView, e.g. by using the Calculator-filter? If not, is it possible to write the data of the paraView-cuts and do further manipulation using the OpenFOAM library? Rolando |

To find out what is possible in ParaView take a look at the options and play around with it. KitWare also release documentation, have you had a look at that?

Yes I did, I have worked with it from time to time.
What Iīve seen is, that one canīt do such "complex" data manipulation with the Calculator-filter. If one can do it nevertheless, I didnīt get it so far. To write filtered data explicitly, I didnīt try so far. |
