average of a transient velocity field

Is there a possibility in OpenFOAM to calculate an average field from several time steps of a transient flow calculation?

You can use the filter "Temporal Statistics" in Parawiew.

As I recall, there is a function object which does exactly that during runTime. This has the upside of including all time steps compared to the post-processing tool, which can only work on the saved time steps.
