Hello,

Anybody know if it is possible to calculate the center of pressure and moments in a multiphase simulation using interDyMFoam

Best regards,

Best regards,
Can you tell me what a center of pressure and/or momentum is?

Hello,

I want to obtain the sloshing forces and moments to be compare with experimental data of an tank partially filled with water suspected to a sinusoidal lateral excitation in Y direction [A*cos(w*t)]

In fluent it can be done by “reports>forces>...”

I can calculate the forces by [patchIntegrate p walls] this generate the total forces in X Y Z

[Time=15
Area vector of patch walls[0] =(5,51E-17 -8,75E-17 7,72E-19)
Area magnitude of patch walls[0] = 1,01
Reading volScalarField p
Integral of p over vector area of patch walls[0] = (-86,11 -305,32 3,18)
Integral of p over area magnitude of patch walls[0] = 99687,5
]

But I don't know the moments about an specified center [in my case a point in the middle of the lower part of the tank, were I fixed it to the shaker using a 3 axle load cell, in order to measure the vertical forece (Fz), lateral force (Fy) and roll moment(Mx)]

If you can help me I will be very gratefully

Best regards,

I would try to have a look into the tool, which calculated the forces.
Maybe you will have to alter it, so it will output the values you want.
