Conveyor belt DEM simulation

Hi everybody! I'm Max from Italy and i'm a newbie of CFD.
Currently i work on my MS degree on DEM simulation in OPENFOAM. My goal is to simulate the behavior of some particles on a conveyor belt that moves at constant speed as in EDEM software. I have some questions.
  1. I suppose that I need to define a moving surface/block to simulate the conveyor belt movement and properties, and then use the lagrangian solver (ex: ico_uncoupled_kinematic_parcel_foam) to manage the particles . Is it correct?
  2. If i want to simulate a moving surface/block, is a moving mesh required? If yes, is there a case study in OPENFOAM?
I would appreciate a lot if someone could help me on this case.

Best regards,
Luigi Massimiliano Santoro (Italy)

PS: Sorry for my bad english.

Depending on what you need, a moving mesh may not be strictly necessary; you might be able to get away with just setting the boundary condition on the conveyor to a constant velocity (if all you care about is the particle motion).
