Hi everyone!

I'm a new openFoam user. I'm trying to decompose a mesh and I'm getting the following error message:

"FOAM IO FALTAL ERROR (openfoam-2012)
Attempt to cast type patch to type lduInterface"

it's pointing to the epsilon dictionary in 0 directory. it is specifying that the error is in the boundary field "AMI2" which is of type cyclicAMI.

I don't know what is going on!

Please, someone could advise me how can I get more detailed information about this problem?

Thank you so much!

Marco

Thank you so much to be willing to help me! Excuse me for delay in response.

In fact I already solve the problem by myself reading some parts of the Openfoam user guide.

I'm following a tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqrCqzuvxPY) published by Ali Ikhsanul on his youtube channel. On this tutorial, Ali theaches how to modelling a rotating propeller on Openfoam using meshes created on Salome.

My problem occurred due I'm using a different version of Openfoam than Ali used on his video. Then some diference of sintaxe implemented on the dictionaries are causing the problem.

Now I'm running the solver and I believe that it will finish to run next saturday! I start to run last week o wednesday! It is because I'm running on my notebook Ryzen7 that has only 4 cores.

When It finished, I will upload all the configuration files, mesh and results here. Maybe it will be useful for someone.

Thank you a lot one more time!

Marco

As I told in my last message, I solved the problem by myself. There was several mistakes in some dictionary files and I was trying to run a wrong solver. I did correct these mistakes an ran without problems. My computer tooks a lot of time to finish, it tooks 22 day! I tryed to upload my files here but the system refused to do it. Then I'm putting a link to download a zip file directly from my google drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NlW...ew?usp=sharing

Thank you so much!
