Hello. I was trying to run the starToFoam mesh conversion utility for the sonicTurbFoam nacaAirfoil tute by issuing the following command.

lads@PhantomWorks:~/OpenFOAM/lads-1.4/run/tutorials/sonicTurbFoam/nacaAirfoil$ starToFoam .. nacaAirfoil nacaAirfoil

The following error was reported:

I did not have this error initially in reading the .vrt file last time I ran this utility in OF 1.3.

I went back to my OF 1.3 installation and tried again, but to no avail. It did not work either.

I currently use GRIDGEN as my grid generator and was planning to write out grids using the star-cd format.

What am I doing wrong? The OpenFoam case file structure is complete and the command has been issued correctly I believe. The foamCorrectVrt utility does not exist either.

I also tried outputting the grid in Star CCM+ format to take advantage of the ccm26ToFoam utility. GRIDGEN outputs the grid file with the extension '.inp'. This is not the '.ccm' extension I believe is expected by the ccm26ToFoam utility.

Can anyone help with this please?

Regards

Answering my own question from some time ago, I managed to get this all to work this afternoon without any hassles. I simply ran the starToFoam command after placing the prostar files in the correct location. I.e the same path as the case directory.

My appologies for my ignorance and stupidity.

Thanks for the access to this software and its continued development.

Regards
