Hello Foamers,

I would like to create the following geometry in openfoam.

A small circular hole is drilled through a block (cuboid in shape). Please let me know how to create such a geometry in openfoam.

Thanks

Vishal

akidess will become famous soon enough
There is an example of how to do this in the user guide. You just have to extend it from 1/4 to the full block. Shouldn't bee difficult.

Thanks, Anton for the reply. Yes, this geometry is doable. What I wanted to create is the following geometry that is attached with this thread. A cylindrical hole is drilled through three membranes (two thick membranes and a thin membrane in the center). The membrane is then connected to two reservoirs on either side. I would like to know if there is a general code or format to create any geometry without having to define the vertices manually. Please let me know !!

Thanks

Regards,
Vishal

Greetings to all!

@Vishal: Try SwiftBlock: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/SwiftBlock - this way you can create a "blockMeshDict" interactively.

Best regards,
Bruno

Thanks, Bruno. I would take a look at it.
