how to add data to boundaryfile

Hey all,

since two days I try to figure out how to add data to the boundary File. I have a simple pipe geometry containing inlet, outlet and wall. I did the geometry using salome, than I imported each single part as stl file. At the end i used snappyHexMesh wich created just one boundary file. I wonder how I can say openfoam in the shmDict to put each stl data for inlet, outlet etc into the boundary file. Does someone know??

Dear PreCoatFilter,

I had exactly the same problem,
I created the file into Salome then imported back into OpenFoam using SnappyHM. After having snapped your files, try to use the command in your folder autoPatch 75 (you might need to play with the value of the angle).
Make sure before that in your controlDict file, you start from latestTime.

Then autoPatch will start from your last folder (which I assume is the 2/) and create a third one 3/ where inside you will find a new polymesh/boundary.
You could then rename the autoPatch0... by inlet, outlet and wall, and attibute Patch.

Hope this answer will help
Best regards
/Julien
