Solid-air flow domain

I want to simulate flow induced by plasma actuator. That's why I need to create following geometry as shown below:

How can I define such solid and gas (air) domain?
Thanks in advance.

hey, check out chtMultiRegionFoam, you can define solid/fluid by specifying the material properties in constant/transportProperties. This gives you an idea of how to get up multi region mesh. Note that chtMultiRegionFoam is for conjugate heat transfer simulations, so the solver itself is not directly applicable to you, you will need to remove the heat components and add on the electromagnetic forces parts in order to simulate the plasma generation (not sure how to go about doing that.)

Anyways, that should at least help you figure out the mesh part.

Regards,

Jace

Thanks for your reply. I have checked chtMultiRegionFoam/ chtMultiRegionSimpleFoam but where is transport properties Dict? I have found /constant/regionProperties where region is identified for the patches used

and in /system/topoSetDict the regions are defined in details with co-ordinates, I am reading an explanation about toposet
cheers.

Hi mukut,

take a look in the thermophysicalProperties-Dict. If you look in the heatExchanger-tutorial the density for the solid is set to 1000 in the densityCoeff subDict.

I don't have used the thermophysicalProperties already, but i think its just an extension of the transportProperties-Dict.

Best regards,

Christoph

Thanks bro. I am reading and hope will get some ways to solve it...
