Hi,

I'm trying to thermally model a "computer kit", considering I know the volume flow (or/and the velocity) and the heat load.

It’s important to understand that my kit is inside the domain (i.e. none of his faces attach the boundary of the domain.

Pretty new user of openFoam, I had read a lot through the forum (thanks you) and I had a significant amount of unsuccessful "try". As I'm running out of idea, I was wondering if some you have some ideas/hints.

I’m using buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam.

What I have done (my best shot…):
- Use baffles (wall BC) to define the geometry of my kit. (a cuboid) leaving the “suction” and the “discharge” of the kit free
- Use cyclic Fan BC to generate the flow (pressure/velocity based on fan curves), cyclic patch define on the middle of the kit.
- Set a temperature jump through the cyclic boundary to simulate my “heat load”

That seems to ”work” fine, but I’m not satisfy as I don’t really know the fan characteristic neither the pressure drop through my kit and I much prefer to directly set the velocity/volume flow.

Does someone can help me? The case seems trivial..
Many thanks,
R.
