Hello all,

I would like to cite a reference for the scotch decomposition in OpenFOAM 2.1.1 (though my question applies to any other version): does anybody know what the correct reference is for Scotch, and what version of Scotch is used in OpenFOAM? All I found so far was a website for Scotch, but no answers to these questions: http://www.labri.fr/perso/pelegrin/scotch/

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Daniel

Greetings Daniel,

Quick list:
  • OpenFOAM 1.7 used Scotch 5.1
  • OpenFOAM 2.0 and 2.1 use Scotch 5.1.11
  • OpenFOAM 2.2 and 2.3 use Scotch 6.0.0
Best regards,
Bruno

Thanks, Bruno: may I ask where you found this information? I would like to dig it up for a reference.

Regards,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Ooops, sorry, I simply went to the "ThirdParty-*" folders I have for each OpenFOAM version and checked the folder name for "scotch-*".

Let's see... this should also be present in the main "etc/config" files... Here we go:
For OpenFOAM 1.7.*, you'll have to download it from the ThirdParty 1.7 package, available through here: http://www.openfoam.org/archive/1.7....oad/source.php

Best regards,
Bruno
