Dear All,

My solid structures are input from a stl file and it has only one patch name,
but I would like to separate this single patch or define new patches on, such as a cylinder shape column, the top and bottom faces.

I would like to do this because I need different boundary conditions for each surface.

Regards,
Yage

the easiest way is to use salome to decompose faces and then regroup them as different boundary patch name

you can download salome from here

Thanks for the reply.

So the salome can decompose the stl structure and rename each faces?
